Statement from Ontario PC Health Critic Jeff Yurek on Bell Let’s Talk Day
QUEEN’S PARK – Today marks Bell Let’s Talk, a program that was designed to speak openly about mental health issues and help end the stigma attached to mental health. For every tweet, Facebook share, text or call made by a Bell customer, Bell will donate 5 cents to various mental health initiatives.
“Bell Let’s Talk is an opportunity for Ontarians and people across the world to learn and discuss mental health problems and understand that mental illness can affect anyone,” stated Ontario PC Health Critic, MPP Jeff Yurek (Elgin-Middlesex-London). “Myself and my colleagues believe that mental health is just as important as physical health, and we need to do a better job of treating it that way.”
“We have a responsibility to raise awareness of what can be done to ensure people with mental health conditions live with dignity, respect and inclusion. I encourage everyone to take part in Bell Let’s Talk to help end the stigma” concluded Yurek
