Yurek Appointed PC Health Critic
THOMAS – This morning, Progressive Conservative Leader Patrick Brown announced a shadow cabinet shuffle at a media conference held in Toronto at 10:00am. Elgin-Middlesex-London MPP Jeff Yurek was given the new role as PC Critic of Health and Long Term Care.
“I’m very excited to take on this new role on behalf of caucus” said Yurek. I am looking forward to working with Ontarians across the province and will do what I can to hold the Minister of Health and Long Term Care to account on policies coming from this ministry to ensure that all Ontarians are receiving the best possible health care.”
In addition to his new responsibilities, Yurek will also sit as a member on the Standing Committee of Regulations and Private Bills in addition to his cultural outreach portfolio.
“The current government has made a mess of the health care system. The continuous cuts and lack of funding has and will continue to affect Ontarians across the province if the government continues on their current path. The shortage of doctors, improving patient care, job losses and lack of funding for programs, surgeries and frontline staff are just a few of the critical issues that need to be addressed.” Stated Yurek.
The current Minister of Health and Long Term Care is Eric Hoskins. Yurek will be seeking a meeting with the Ministry to discuss the many challenges that Ontario faces with respect to our health care system.
“I am looking forward to meeting with people across the province and improving healthcare for all Ontarians.”
