YUREK ON HAND AT PETERS’ PORTRAIT HANGING

News:

(Queen’s Park) – Elgin-Middlesex-London MPP Jeff Yurek was on hand for his predecessor Steve Peter’s portrait unveiling at Queen’s Park on Tuesday.  The ceremony was followed by a reception with many MPPs and residents of Elgin-Middlesex-London reflected on Mr. Peters’ time as Speaker.

Mr. Peters, who served as the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly for the 39th Parliament, was in Queen’s Park for the ceremony.  All Speakers of the Legislature receive an original portrait to be hung in the halls of Queen’s Park.

“It’s always a pleasure to see Steve,” said Mr. Yurek, “those who served in the legislature before me always remark how fair of a referee he was during his time as Speaker.”

Mr. Yurek also noted that he was looking forward to working with Steve Peters in his new capacity as Executive Director for the Alliance of Ontario Food Processors.

“We have a tremendous agricultural capacity in the riding of Elgin-Middlesex-London and this makes us an ideal candidate for food processors looking for a place to invest,” concluded Mr. Yurek.
