(Queen’s Park, ON) – It’s official.  For the third straight year, Railway City Brewing Company’s signature Dead Elephant Ale was voted to be the featured bold flavoured ale at the Legislative Assembly for 2012-2013.  The selection was made during the Ontario Craft Beer Tasting and Selection Reception at Queen’s Park hosted by Speaker Dave Levac.

The full-bodied golden Pale Ale was one of seventy-two beers featured from twenty craft brewers across the province.  MPPs, staff, and members of the press had the opportunity to sample the many beers and vote on their favourites in seven different categories.  Once again, Dead Elephant impressed the attendees and was voted to be the featured bold flavoured ale.

“I am a big fan of the beer Railway City Brewing Company brews and this is just further proof that they brew one of the best beers in the province,” said MPP Jeff Yurek, “I’m proud to call Railway City Brewing Company my hometown brewer; they’ve really created something special in St. Thomas of which we can all be proud.”

The company’s third straight win is made all the more incredible by the fact that the Railway City Brewing Company is only in its fourth year of operation.  In addition to Dead Elephant, the company has created other memorable labels including Iron Spike and their various seasonal labels such as Hoptoberfest.

“Craft brewing inOntariois a growing industry that I believe we all want see thrive.  Craft brewers’ commitment to quality ingredients and inventive flavours ensure Ontarians can consume good beer that’s brewed in this province.  I’m thrilled that we have one of the industry’s leaders right here inSt. Thomas,” concluded Mr. Yurek.
